The Acceptance of an Elf

“Yes my young elf go and grow and become a force to be reckoned with.”
The last words spoken to me as I left the Forest from the mother tree.
“As you command milady.” So off I went to travel and grow.  At first I thought it would be difficult then I discovered to trust my bow and my aim. At first it was small things goblins and hobgoblins and the like. Then came the orcs and their clans. Then I found them, the undead, the foul beasts. I started getting stronger, aim was getting better. And above all I was starting to be a respectful person within the lands of Aden.
As I was leveling and getting stronger I noticed out of the corner of my eye a beautiful lady elf. So I hide and when she passed I draw on her. “Stop. Who are you and why are you following me?”
As she tilts her head in amusement, “my love have you forgotten me already?”
“Who..Who are you milady?” as she giggles at me. “You silly little elf I’m your love and soul mate.” Then like a hammer it hits me. “Milady Ladyofnight its you.”
“One day milove when you are ready you shall see me again” it was just like the vision I had at the tree. “Mother, who is she? She’s beautiful.” The mother tree laughed as she could which sounded more like a wind in the trees. “She is your love for all time. You will meet her and her pledge as time shall so see fit.”
I took her hand,”Forgive me love I have forgotten myself. “Milady I shall make you happy and forever be yours as long as you will have me.” She takes my hand “rise Han For you need not bow to me. We are equals and always shall be.”
As I smiled I ask her “shall we hunt?” ”Of Course we shall but not here this is too easy for you.” As she kicks the bones of the skel I just killed. She gives me a blessed teleport scroll. “Have you our lake rememberd?” “Of course I do.”
“Then meet me there and we shall get you stronger.” Then * poof* she’s gone like the wind. As I read the scroll a beautiful light flows around me then the colors disappear from the earth and swirl together to form a new view. As I try to take a step it takes me a moment to realize that I traversed miles of Aden to get here.
I get there and all I see is my lady love fighting and the ramia and the beholders are ascending upon her. “NOOOO” I screamed and charged into battle. I hear her say “no fear love we have help.” Then out of the blue I see lord Spinner and Lord Kalamar and his Royal Highness Amenhotep III. Plus other at that time I did not know. Swords come arrows and above all magic from Kal coming in.
“Fear not lord elf” Amen says “Today is not yours or her day to die.” Then I noticed that all of them had the same device or emblem as I now know it. It’s a bursting star in blue and white displayed on a shield or cloak or whatever they could fit it on. Tis the pledge DOA or Defenders of Aden. And they have come to see me and protect lady.
“So Lady this is the elf you promised us today is it?” a husky voice asks I turn to see who it comes from and Duke Spinner is there waiting.


“Hello Duke Spinner I’m Handanelith” extending my hand to the tall knight, he shakes it and squeezes it. “Hello elf.” I release his hand and look again at lady and she’s all smiles. “Handanelith I understand you are looking for a new home within these lands of Aden.” Amen looks with his red cloak flowing in the wind. “Well, Yes I guess I am.” Then brother welcome to DOA if you’re so inclined to join us.”
Shocked at first then amazed at my stroke of luck I remove my bow and lay it at Amen’s feet. “I’d be honored to be in your pledge and bring pride to you and yours as well.”
